HOTEL SPLENDIDE ROYAL ROMA
A Sparkling Treasure in Rome!
In the eternal city of ancient Rome lies a first class sparkling treasure. Clearly, there is no shortage of five-star hotels in the global town of Rome. However, for me, there is only one and that’s the Hotel Splendide Royal Roma. Obviously, you don’t have to actually be royalty to stay in the palace, but you will no doubt feel as though you are. Nevertheless, I was always on the lookout for William and Kate.
Upon my arrival at the hotel, the doormen greeted me immediately with a welcoming, friendly smile and a much needed helping hand.

As I walked through its doors, it appeared I had entered a magical world of wonder & storybook beauty. My jaw dropped open gazing at the marble entrance that leads into the golden ornate lobby, adorned with old-world elegance, class and opulence. Simply stunning!

This glorious, Hotel Splendide Royal Roma, is a luxury five-star hotel. It boasts the perfect position right in the heart of the timeless city. It is just minutes away from most of Rome’s historic highlights, including a spectacular view overlooking the beautiful gardens of Villa Broghese and the Spanish steps.
The hotel has recently been entirely refurbished. From the entrance
to the lobby, all the rooms and suites, and the spa have all been
redone and updated with amazing style and class. This Palace, from
the late 19th century, combines lavish beauty with baroque decorative
features. All the marble and Murano glass accents add to the
breathtaking refinement and ambiance of its unparalleled elegance
and grace that creates a totally gorgeous, chic atmosphere.

Staying at Hotel Splendide Royal Roma ensures majestic luxury and sophistication in the most authentic and aristocratic district of Rome. It sits between Via Veneto and Villa Borghese. I found it fascinating and surreal how I could almost feel occurrences from long ago without losing any of the comforts and amenities of today’s modern technology. I smiled as I could hear and see in my imagination, the tales of former glory that capture the atmosphere created by the famous celebrities and film stars that the Hotel Splendide Royal Roma has always accommodated within its esteemed walls. I can clearly understand why the rich and famous would feel right at home here, as did I! Although tastefully elaborate, I always felt warm and cozy during my stay.

This intimate and extraordinarily charming hotel used to be a beautiful palazzo, (palace) so the building’s décor and design are quite ornate and beautiful. In addition, it is one of the most accredited hotels in Europe. The Hotel Splendide Royal Roma, is one of The Leading Hotels of the World, with its fierce reputation for exclusivity and excellence, they have most deservedly been awarded a Michelin star.
Recently described as Splendide by guests themselves, the hotel is purely “tout court,” and beaming with friendliness, kindness and immeasurable hospitality.
Breakfast at the Crystal Lounge is incredible…

As the hotel is located in the Via Veneto district, set on a hilltop, it sports an enormous awe-inspiring panorama, which sweeps across the city with views including Villa Borghese Park, Trinità dei Monti and St. Peter’s Basilica. I marveled each morning with amazement enjoying an incredible breakfast. Gazing out over the ancient city, I felt privileged experiencing this whole scene.
A word to the wise, be hungry, for the buffet is enormous and
includes every breakfast item under the sun, excluding none. Not only
worth every calorie, but lovely and delectable as well. This will be a
forever food memory in my mind. It was all quite astonishing, really.
The restaurant’s clever play of mirrors displays delightful reflections
of great picture-perfect loveliness. This breakfast perfection is a most
enchanting setting in which to start the day in Rome!

Mirabelle Restaurant

Mirabelle restaurant in a word, AHHHHH! At Mirabelle, my eyes and taste buds were equally enchanted. This dazzling restaurant is a foodie’s dream come true. I enjoyed an amazing culinary explosion of deliciousness to my palate and a complete sensorial experience. To be perfectly honest, from the foods to the ambiance to the service, I believe Mirabelle is THE FINEST RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD!

Between the exquisite, delectable foods, the magnificent looking presentations, and the brilliantly creative Executive Chef Stefano Marzetti, (pictured below wearing chefs’ hat) serving the finest fresh seasonal ingredients, dining at Mirabelle is absolutely magical.

Thanks to the charm, professionalism and precision of Luca Costanzi, the restaurant’s manager and Primo Maître D’Hôtel (pictured above on the left) the Mirabelle restaurant remains flawless, consistent, and runs like clockwork year-round. Bravo Luca!

The professional service is nothing short of impeccable as the experienced servers dance around the tables with discreet refinement and exceptional skill. They seemed to instinctively know when they were needed and when you wanted your privacy. Very rare.

You can either dine at the restaurant, or simply enjoy watching the sunset for a wonderful and relaxing delicious aperitif. It’s nice to stop and smell the roses now and again. Like they say in Italy, “Dolce fare Niente!” The sweetness of doing nothing. We all can learn a thing or two (or thousand) from the people of this phenomenal country.
I actually recommend experiencing both. Or perhaps, after drinks you are now ready to have one of the most memorable dining experiences you will ever have.
Trust me… I know! For I do this for a living!

You can start off with any of the scrumptious appetizers. I suggest everything! However, I munched on the totally yummy Risotto with duck confit, rhubarb, watercress and foie gras shavings. Or, the extra–crispy tossed Risotto Milanese style wild asparagus nest and creamy Parmesan cheese. As you are in Italy, you might want to go with the Spaghettettoni pasta with Trapani pesto sauce, artichokes, broad beans, pork cheek and Roman Pecorino cheese.
Or perchance, request an array of sample appetizers & vegetables

I proceeded onward to the tasty Sea Bass in salt crust and the tender Beef Fillet Heritage.(see below) It’s amazing what this imaginative Chef Stefano Marzetti does with food. It is all so very luscious! You simply cannot go wrong at Mirabelle, as everything will be the ‘Best of the Best’ that you have ever tasted, or should I say devoured. Don’t forget dessert, and don’t miss out on their brilliant wine collection.
The Mirabelle American Bar

The Mirabelle American Bar is sophisticated, refined, yet comfortable and relaxed. Here is where you can enjoy a cocktail and unwind from your busy day roaming around on your Roman escapades.

After dinner, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the talented and romantic singer, Francesco Illiano sipping a wonderful glass of Sambuca with coffee beans and dessert.

From Mirabelle’s astonishing gorgeous terrace with its stunning views through the immense windows showing breathtaking views of Rome, to its gourmet creations and delights, this is an incredible experience not to be missed! It is dining perfection that is always memorable.

To be perfectly honest, Mirabelle is my favorite restaurant in all of Rome and most likely in the entire world. I forever dream of returning… A BIG THANK YOU TO MANAGER LUCA COSTANZI!!
THE TEAM AT THE HOTEL SPLENDIDE ROYAL ROMA…

THE VAST ARRAY OF EXTRAORDINARY ELEGANT ROOMS
Every room in the hotel is bursting with warmth and the perfect fusion of antique details and modern necessities for each guest’s own personal wellbeing. In each guest room, there is evidence of the gorgeous beauty, from days gone by, which are evident in the vintage furniture and wood paneling.
The bed and fine bedding in my room was mind-blowing and extravagant. I slept like a baby. I experienced truly unforgettable sleep in this luxurious and comfortable surrounding. Furthermore, the stellar amenities, towels, and toiletry products (made in Florence) were first class and quite opulent.
At the Hotel Splendide Royal Roma, there are 78 soundproofed,
magnificently beautiful rooms provided with minibars, newspapers,
and safes. There is complimentary WiFi and LED TVs with satellite
channels and pay movies. Bathrooms offer hair dryers, bathrobes,
and slippers. Other standard amenities include phones and desks.
Nearly all of the rooms have large marble bathrooms with the perfect
natural light source and have large terraces with sweeping views over
the city and the gardens of Villa Borghese.
I assure you, whatever spectacular accommodation that you choose,
you will be thrilled, never wanting to leave. Allow me to explain; there
are several categories of enchanting rooms at the hotel…
THERE ARE MANY STUNNING EXQUISITE SUITES SUCH AS, “The PENTHOUSE JACUZZI SUITE”

Among the many breathtaking posh suites at The Splendide Royal Roma Hotel is (OH MIO DIO!!! ) The extraordinary Penthouse Jacuzzi Suite.
Here guests will be seduced by the beauty of Rome even
without leaving your room. This Suite is an elegant, private
accommodation which boasts enchanting views of the plush gardens
of Villa Borghese. Its style recalls the classicism of ancient noble
palaces, which conveys luxury, serenity, and beauty while at the
same time still feels cozy and provides modern equipment. The suite
comprises a double bedroom (with king-size bed or twin-beds), a
separate living room with an elegant sitting area and a marble
bathroom with tub and/or shower. The major highlight of the suite is

Property features
Recently inaugurated, the hotel’s modern fitness room provides an exclusive space devoted to wellness and self-care. This state-of-the-art gym provides Technogym equipment, which is perfectly suited for both cardiovascular workouts & strength training. It is beautifully designed in a contemporary style that harmoniously complements the elegance of the hotel. The gym offers an intimate and refined atmosphere exclusively for guests who will have access to premium Technogym weights and cardio machines, along with a dedicated treatment room within the facility for personalized body therapies.

FYI, I worked-out at this awesome gym and afterwards I was able to
enjoy some quiet time and a glass of vino at the rooftop terrace. Also,
the 24-hour front desk has multilingual staff ready to assist with dry
cleaning/laundry, tours or tickets and luggage storage. I know I
certainly kept them busy! Other amenities at this wonderful hotel
include a business center and coffee/tea in a common area.
“In my opinion, The ‘Hotel Splendide Royal Roma’ symbolizes its
own rare brand of unique luxury and style. I was surrounded by all the
comforts of my own home even though I was travelling. That alone is
remarkable. This organization understands their guest’s desires,
wants, needs, demands and even anticipates them without anything
being said. For instance, I always received a warm smile, a
Buongiorno or Buonasera greeting, genuine caring, a supportive
suggestion, and a helping hand at just the exact moment I needed it.
These simple touches are an integral part of the Hotel making it one
of the most sought-after hotels in the Eternal City.”
I do realize, of course, that my entire review of the Hotel Splendide
Royal Roma is entirely over-the-top with praise. However, it is not at
all exaggerated and is precisely the only accurate way to write it. This
is factually, one of the most spectacular hotels in the world and merits
every bit of praise and acclaim.
The Hotel Splendide Royal Roma is quite splendid, indeed! So,
whether you are looking for the perfect business stay, a romantic
getaway, or a dreamy Italian vacation, this is the extraordinary
destination to be!”
I rate this treasure of a hotel in Rome, An Immense A+…

WHAT TO DO WHILE STAYING AT HOTEL SPLENDIDE ROYAL ROMA:
ROME… THE ANCIENT, ETERNAL CITY:
As we all know, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither can one touch the surface seeing it in a day or even a year.
Rome, Italy’s capital is a sprawling, international city with nearly 3,000 years of globally influential art, architecture and culture on display. Countless ancient ruins arouse the supremacy of the former Roman Empire. Vatican City, headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church, has St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, which house masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes. A must see while in Rome. Other attractions of note:

There is simply no other gelato place to go!
There is always a line and you will make new friends while you wait! It’s a happening…

THE BIG BUS TOURS

This is the absolute best way to see the city of Rome. You can hop
on-hop-off, as much as you like to visit all the attractions.
I suggest purchasing a 2-day pass. On the first day, stay on the bus
for the full hour and a half. You will get to see a glimpse of the entire
city that way. You’ll receive an ear piece to plug in, which enables its
guests to hear any language needed. The recording is synchronized
with the bus and explains everything you are seeing as the bus drives
along. The Big Bus Tour staff are friendly and quite helpful. This is a
city that I absolutely recommend taking this Bus Tour.
CASTEL SANT’ ANGELO

THE PHOTOS BELOW SHOW WHAT YOU WILL SEE FROM THE TOP OF THE CASTEL… THE WHOLE CITY OF ROME!

This is my favorite place in the ancient city!
Here is where you’ll get to see the entire awesome view of Rome… It is essential to make your way to the very, very top where the angel stands. Do stay a while, after taking in the miraculous view, and have an aperitif and watch the sunset here. Truly memorable!

Piazza Navona

MY FAVORITE Restaurante in Piazzo Navona ~ “4 Fiumi”
I don’t typically like eating or drinking at tourist restaurants located near tourist attractions. I normally keep an eye out for the locals and see where they are eating. However, I love the Piazzo Navona area. Fortunately, I found the best restaurant, where the food is fresh; to-die-for terrific and the prices are wonderful…
Restaurante, “4 Fiumi” The owner Umberto (and do say hello for me) and the whole staff are amazing, friendly and fun to talk with. I promise, that you will never be rushed.

You will be sitting at the best spot in the heart of the Piazzo Navona
action, while sipping on a glass of wine or the famous Spritz and
eating anything and everything on the menu. FYI, you must ask for
the check in Italy, they won’t bring it till you ask, “Controlli, per
favore!” Additionally, I know FB says not to tip. I say You Should Tip!
Also, in general, if you go into a restaurant and you don’t hear mostly
Italian spoken, run! Italians don’t dine at touristy restaurants!!!
