I worked with the abundantly experienced and charming travel professional Anna Cacace. She is the Fit and Contract Manager for the office in Sorrento, which is the main office in Italy. (www.acampora.it) Anna arranged guided tours in a private car and hotels for me to experience first-hand. What a stellar organization she is a part of. To say I was impressed would be a severe understatement. This company WOWED ME!

I was set up to experience a wide arrange of travel excursions. The first day, I was picked up in a private car from the Naples train station. I was then transferred in total comfort to my hotel in Sorrento. As a traveler, their prompt pickup and care took the entire sting away that traveling could bring.

SORRENTO:

The following day in Sorrento, my private tour through Acampora Travel along with ‘Charmlimos,’ the group’s supplier (www.charmlimos.com) based in Sorrento who covers all VIP transfers, picked me up. They left out nothing to be desired and far more than I would ever have expected.

Settled high on the cliffs of Italy’s Amalfi Coast, is the spectacularly picturesque town of Sorrento. Arguably the ideal peace and tranquility for those looking to breathe fresh bay air, relax, bathe in beauty, serenity and sip locally made limoncello. (Don’t forget about the meloncello!)

My tour placed me right in the center of Sorrento heaven. This is a wonderful little town and I was taken everywhere, including a delectable lunch.

Of course, I was given ample solo shopping time. Much to buy in Sorrento! After all, I am a girl! Note, take the fun, little white train through the town.

FYI…
A wonderful place to stay in Sorrento! (see at the bottom of this article)

Amalfi Coastal Road. . .
What a wild ride

My personal tour-guide and driver, Francesco Vitale, picked me up at my hotel, precisely on time in a private car and took me on this miraculous awe-inspiring journey through paradise. He spoke several languages and was completely well versed on this particular region. Francesco Vitale was not only professional, very kind, patient, attentive, and classy, but I must say, quite gorgeous. Facts are facts!

I was in such admiration throughout this remarkable mind-blowing drive through the Amalfi Coast, that I made this poor young handsome man stop in the middle of very perilous spots along the way so that I could jump out to take photos. And even with that, he was so wonderful. I admit, I made him quite nervous worrying about me as he always yelled out, “ Be Careful!”
At least he didn’t yell out, “Be Careful, Ma’am!”

The picturesque region of the Amalfi coast is mysteriously colorful with its cliff -side perch’s, beautiful churches, and charming squares. If I weren’t so preoccupied snapping photos on my Nikon as we drove along the beautiful landscape of the Amalfi Coast, passing stunning panoramic views, colorful rolling hills and mountains that dropped into the sea, I might have had a nail-biting attack from looking down at the vertical precipitous bluffs and cliff-clinging residences. Saved by the camera! Warning… it’s a tad chilling, but I had a fabulous driver.

There is no argument that this is one of the most scenic coastal drives in the entire world. The visions are breathtaking, gazing out over the sparkling Mediterranean blue sea and driving along the coastline as the road winds, twists and turns its way towards “Positano” (approx. 20 minutes from Sorrento).

Although the Amalfi Coast only stretches for 30 miles, it offers enough fairytale beauty and Italian essence of luxury that you should stay several days. This region of charming villages can offer a vacation all on its own with its coastal towns, exquisite beaches, restaurants, villas, shops, gardens and some of the best hotels in the world.

The Sorrentine Peninsula truly sparkles and glows like a beautiful diamond bracelet. The allure of the Amalfi Coast’s natural beauty has been drawing tourists to the area long before it had a name. Its magic and idyllic weather even seduced ancient Roman nobles to build their villas there, a real-estate craze that over time, never faded. This coastline is one of the most extraordinary and unique destinations in the world. In my professional opinion, no tour company can bring this region home to you better than Acampora Travel!!!!

AT LAST, THE JEWEL OF ITALY . . .
POSITANO. . .
As Francesco drove on, we reached one of the most perfect Jewels of Italy… Positano.
The village of Positano is built on many diverse heights from the road, all the way down to sea level. It looks like a waterfall cascading down its rocks to the sea. Such spectacular visions, it was hard for the computer chip in my brain to take it all in. Wondrous, enchanting, and storybook is the only way I can describe it.
Thanks to AT Acampora Travel and Francesco I was able to capture and visit every bit of it.
Positano is one the Amalfi Coast’s most photogenic and exclusive towns, with posh vertiginous houses tumbling down to the sea. This whole region is not only so astounding that it brings a sense of spirituality, but also an opportunity to channel your inner Gandhi or Deepak Chopra…
Next, I was given relaxing time in Positano to, of course, shop!
Honestly, I was so taken care of by Mr. Vitale that I was looking in shops for a crown as he totally made me feel like a queen.
Corny, I know… but so true.
Before my tour, Acampora Travel and Anna informed me that I could request that the 9 hours be tailor-made to what I wanted to do.
So, Pasta, Pizza, Vino, and Gelato Me please!
“Absolutely no diets in Italy,” is my mantra!
Therefore, Francesco brought me to a lovely spot along the Amalfi coast for lunch, sporting amazing views and delicious regional dishes.

Positano and the Amalfi coast is nothing short of a forever, dreamy memory. It screams romance, love, passion and honeymoon.
But, hey, the pizza, wine and pasta were all the romance I needed!

AMALFI

Moving on, (now having just gained 10 romantic pounds), this spectacular tour continued with fabulous vistas and imprudent stops for photos (for which I take full responsibility), all the way to Amalfi, (approx. 1 hour). Poor, accommodating and patient Francesco!

Amalfi is a charming village. It’s just one cluster, in a strand of white pearls of towns strung along the Amalfi Coast. It is one of the most historic towns along the Coast, having had a celebrated history as a maritime republic.

I was given time to wander through the narrow streets of the town and check out the endless shops. I also stopped for an aperitif with olives, nuts, and chips at one of the many outside cafes in this delightful little town of Amalfi.

RAVELLO
Next, off we went to Ravello known for its music and is positioned on the hillside above Amalfi. The town has served historically as a destination for artists, musicians, and writers, including Giovanni Boccaccio and Richard Wagner. Every year since 1953 in the summer months, the ”Ravello Fesitval” takes place.

Due to the fact that Ravello, sits like an eagle’s nest above the dizzying panorama of Amalfi coast, it is known to be one of the most peaceful and charming resorts on the Neapolitan Riviera.

This quaint little town has a main square featuring a picturesque eleventh century cathedral. Also on the tour was Villa Rufolo with its stunning garden views. And yes, I stopped for a cannoli. “Absolutely no diets in Italy!” After all, this is the land of the cannoli!

On the way back to Sorrento, Francesco yet again appeased me and stopped countless times for more pictures along the spectacular coast. What a guy! By this time he deserved a crown of his own.
He just smiled and went on expertly informing me about everything my eyes envisioned and experienced. ONE BIG BRAVO for this magical day organized by the stellar Acampora Travel Group, Anna and Francesco…

ON ANOTHER ACAMPORA TRAVEL TOUR:
CAPRI AND ANACAPRI

The stunning island of Capri with its breathtaking natural landscape is the dream location of the rich and famous, and many grand weddings.

It’s flooded with designer boutiques, shops, bars and restaurants. Acampora Travel offers a guided tour of Capri and AnaCapri. I was taken to the famous Faraglioni rocks, through the Blue Grotto, lunch at Piazza Umberto, Giardini Di Augusto (Garden of Augustus) and The Chair-lift that totally scared me and took 10 years off my life, but… a must do experience regardless!
It’s so wonderful going with a guide, knowing I saw it all!

Don’t’ miss out on their tours of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Visit the only active Volcano on mainland Europe that dominates the Bay of Naples.
Do take AT’S other tours and discover the Islands of Ischia and Procida…Ischia is known as the Green Isle because of its lush vegetation. It is also the only location to boast true sandy beaches. It is a volcanic island dominated by Mount Epomeo.
Also, ask about their winery tours, wine tasting and brunch buffet… …

Later that week, AT Acampora Travel arranged transportation for me to return to Naples and a tremendous tour of the city, as well.

A few days later, the company again arranged transported by a private car to Rome. Feeling like Cinderella going to the ball, I smiled all the way….

My immense gratitude and appreciation to Anna Cacace!
She miraculously set up my whole travel arrangements, hotels, transfers and tours making it possible for me to broadcast just how amazing her part of the world truly is.

It should be a must on the bucket-list for anyone who loves beauty, history, culture, food, nature, shopping and more food! With a million vistas, each one different, the Amalfi Coast is a celebration for the eyes. Just as it has for centuries, it continues to lure travelers here for the spectacular landscapes and the region’s special style of La Dolce Vita.

I rate Anna Cacace, Acampora Travel and all involved,
A SOLID A+… BRAVO TO ALL!

This magical oasis, the haven Villa Luisa Sorrento is a beautiful and panoramic villa located in the small and ancient village called Annunziata, at the end of the Sorrento Peninsula. It is dipped into the green of olive trees in front of the Island of Capri.
The view from the terraces and from the rooms of the villa is amazing: the Gulf of Naples, the hills and Capri. It is 1 km far from the sea, in particular from Baia Delle Sirene, which is one of the most appreciated beaches of the area.
The Villa has 3 bedrooms with private bathrooms, kitchen, living room, laundry, parking and wood-burning oven for baking pizza, barbeque, large terraces overlooking the sea for a vacation surrounded by nature but at the same time with all comforts of a private home.
Thanks to the strategic location, 2 km far fromthe center of Massa Lubrense and 8 from Sorrento, Villa Luisa gives you chance to join the most popular destination of the region as Capri, Ischia, Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius and Amalfi Coast with its small towns Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.
