Covid was devastating for the entire world on so many levels. As a travel journalist for countless years, it was disheartening how quickly the Covid virus brought the joyous adventures of travel, loved by tourists, to a complete stop. However, after two very long years, crippling the travel industry, I can now happily boast, “We are back!”
Indeed traveling is back on track. I do say, however… Be Careful! But yes, go on and enjoy vacationing again. Since I write a great deal about European travel, I was concerned how countless people, as well as my associates, were talking about their fears of going to Europe. Hence, I decided to journey off to Italy myself to check it out first-hand, instead of trusting all the gossip and hearsay. Consequently, I am immensely delighted and thrilled that I did just that.
I decided to go all in. I flew to Italy, stayed in hotels, got into cabs, boats, and trains, ate at restaurants, and took day tours. I felt this would place me directly in the heart of tourism, and help me to put to rest all the fears and worries concerning travel. I carefully selected the truly amazing excursion, transfers, and limo company, “COAST DRIVERS.” I have experienced this company in the past and believe them to be the crème de la crème (in every way) of car transfers and excursions in Italy. I wanted to see if this fact was still accurate. I trusted that questioning, reading, checking out their protocol, and going on their tours at this worrisome, yet auspicious time would tell me the whole story. It would prove to me the truthfulness, and the real safety issues of traveling and being on tours in our present world situation.
Moving ahead, I booked several of the most awesomazing tours I had ever experienced. As it turned out, I remained safe, did not get sick or Covid, and was amazed at how protective and thorough this company was. I loved every second traveling with “COAST DRIVERS” excursions. Every detail was organized, planned, and timed flawlessly. They even allowed me to select and plan the itinerary of my tours. Furthermore, their drivers are stellar, proficiently trained, and professional. It is so important and comforting to have an expert with you when visiting places, (whether you have been there or not) so that you are able to capture fully the culture and the history of where you are visiting. I noticed the drivers truly love what they are doing. Their faces are filled with passion and contentment. It’s lovely to see how happy the people are who work in this company.
Hey you restless tourists out there, Traveling Is Back! So pack your bags and don’t be afraid. And also, if you heed my advice, and choose “COAST DRIVERS” amazing tours, this will no doubt be the best part and the most memorable experience of your vacation destinations. Since discovering the Covid scare, in reality, should not keep you from traveling, allow me to tell you about a few of my excisions & transfers. Sadly, I wish I had booked more!
My first transfer was from Rome to Napoli. I wanted to get there safely, without a lot of people on a train, bus, or other means of transportation. It was lovely and effortless. A “COAST DRIVERS” driver picked me up right in front of my hotel, nice and easy. The ride was relaxed in a Mercedes car driven expertly and comfortably with beautiful music in the background. I felt like a princess. All the drivers from this company speak excellent English and know the history and legends of this region. They offer the most excellent professional service that is tailored to the customer’s needs. “COAST DRIVERS” prices are very affordable and fairly priced. Honestly, truth be told, they are simply the best!
On to Napoli
Arriving safely without any of the typical hassles of traveling, the driver elegantly assisted me into the hotel that I was staying at. My experience traveling to Napoli was perfection and stress-free. And isn’t that what a vacation is ultimately supposed to be!
Being driven in luxury and style, I was able to hit the ground running right into a restaurant to devour a famous Napoleon pizza. The fabulous city of Napoli is filled with energy and excitement. I made sure not a moment was wasted, down to her beautiful sunsets; happy go lucky natives, and the best food in the world. Oh, the delectable Mozzarella, don’t even get me started! And warning, this whole region screams romance.
On to Sorrento
I wisely booked a transfer with “COAST DRIVERS” to Sorrento and I am so delighted I did. No dragging my heavy luggage to the hydrofoil for me. A girl needs her shoes and special Europe outfits, doesn’t she? Although the hydrofoil or ferry are a definite must, however it’s not something I suggest doing with luggage. Antonio, my driver was delightful, charming, and a pleasure to be with on the one hour journey to Sorrento. Although he spoke perfect English, it was wonderful how he put up with my not so perfect Italian, which I love speaking. He explained things along the drive that I did not know about. I do believe traveling with “COAST DRIVERS” was my very favorite part of my European trip. Antonio was so charismatic and pleasant that I requested him for my next journey to the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano. Another reason this superb company is unbelievably stellar, is they allowed me to change the usual route. I wanted to eat lunch in Positano, which changed the sequence usually traveled. I was greeted with, “No worries at all, and as you wish!” I could only smile with appreciation to their accommodating kindness. Tourists simply must visit Sorrento while in this region of Italy. Sorrento with its steep cliffs and all its magnificent splendor, gorgeous sunsets, medieval vibes, and colorful architecture makes it a truly vibrant exciting little town.
Next… The Spectacular Amalfi Coast
The breathtaking and awe-inspiring panoramas along the sparkling Amalfi Coast are beyond mind-blowing! It brought very storybook enchanting feelings. It was hard to even process all of this miraculous beauty. This is an extraordinary drive that must be experienced in your lifetime. To be truthful this part of the world is an artist’s paradise.
Now, I must interject… this is undoubtedly a drive for a serious expert. The roads are narrow and only wide enough for one car. So when another car or bus comes along, it gets pretty hairy. If the driver makes a mistake, or fails to pay robust attention you will find yourself falling right off the cliff of the Amalfi Coast. However, immensely confident in my driver, Antonio, I wasn’t worried for a second. Everything about this unique experience was beyond riveting and magically thrilling.
Next, my driver dropped me off in the charming, beautiful, small town of Amalfi. I relaxed, sipping Limoncello, an Aperol Spritz, chips, nuts, olives, & a cannoli. How serene this moment in time was. He also gave me ample time to pick up a few souvenirs.
Utterly Amazing…
Onward to Ravello
Ravello is known for its music events and festivals. The town is filled with history and its people are immensely proud of it. Ravello sits up on the beautiful cliffs and its high elevation gives it a speical unique ambiance. A feeling, as though you are up in heaven and a million miles away from the rest of the world. Many Hollywood stars particaully loved this town, including Garbo and Tennesse Williams. The lovely Ravello is filled with dreamy vistas, lavish gardens and villas, and boasts an air of glamor, elegance, and sohistication. So thrilling it was strolling about this exquisite town.
On the Road Again to Positano
Positano, with its stunning scenery is rich in cultural heritage and sightseeing. Plain and simple this vibrant town is fairytale stunning and what dreams are made of. Everywhere you look is more goreous than the next visual. It was heavenly being able to visit this spectacular canvas, which God created. It serioulsy had to take him more than 7 days… I’m just sayin!’ And, the only thing that could possibly have made Positano more amazing was doing it in a Mercedes with such an experienced relaxed driver, who I was totally confident in. OK, yes, the fact he was handsome didn’t hurt the situation either.
I warmly thank my driver Antonio, for his incredible driving skills, constantly stopping for me to take photos, a joy to be with, and for all his guidance, patience, and advice. Bravo!
On to Capri
Oh Mamma Mia! The Island of Capri famed for its rugged landscape and jaw-dropping beauty is breathtaking. With its picturesque backdrop, turquoise sea, and world class shopping, it’s a must go-to destination. Although “COAST DRIVERS” could not escort me to Capri, as it must be reached by boat, they informed and guided me with everything to do, where to go, and all the information I would need to have a brilliant day in Capri.
To get up to the top of Capri, I was informed that I should take the funicular. Yes, just like the song! It was so cool rising to the top of the town seeing the seascape below.
It is no wonder; the rich-and-famous anchor their yachts here. I shall remember that for my next life. Another point of note is that Capri’s private beach clubs are world famous. The Blue Grotto is bewitching and clearly worth a visit. Furthermore, you must mosey over to the end of the, via Tragara to see the exquisite, dazzling, and magnificent flower-filled gardens of Augustus. Also, I visited the Faraglioni lookout point, which is a storybook wedding spot. I’ll remember that for my next life, too. I found I couldn’t tear myself away from staring it. Then, I realized it was lunchtime, and ya know? A girls gotta eat, right? I enjoyed a delicious plate of spaghetti alle vongole, while gazing at the gorgeous sea below. I took a pause to appreciate; life just doesn’t get any better than this!
Also, Capri makes the best handmade leather and rhinestone sandals in the world! Come on, I had no other choice. So indeed, I sandaled off with a sparkling pair. (Or two.)
This entire region of the world is absoloutely, heaven on earth!
