Grand Canyon – Pink Jeep Tours

The “Pink Jeep Tour Company” states, and I quote:

“Why Pink Jeep Tours? Simply stated, BECAUSE WE ARE THE VERY BEST!”

After experiencing one of the company’s many exciting, sensational tours, I must say that I whole-heartedly agree with that sentiment!

The Pink Jeep Tours originated in 1960, and they have expeditions in the Sedona, Scottsdale Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas locations.

The guides are not only a blast to hang with; they are knowledgeable, informative, and cognizant of guest safety at all times to boot. They are all graduates of Pink Jeep College and Smith System Driver Training and certified by the National Association for Interpretation.

The jeeps by the way are the most custom Jeep Wranglers in the country.

FYI another perk, is the tours are fairly priced and a lot of bang for your buck, if you will.

I went on a tour of the Grand Canyon South Rim, and let me tell you that it was remarkable, never-ending fun. My tour guide Larry, was so joyful that his enthusiasm and amusing spirit seemed to rub off on everyone in the jeep!

He explained things about the South Rim, including its history, geology, wildlife and urban legends. He pointed out and shared many of the names of the canyons, and even animals he spotted along the way.

Not only did he tell everyone on the jeep when to get our cameras ready, he happily snapped endless pictures for everyone onboard. Let me tell you, most guides (but not Lar) would have used the, “I will take No more photos for anyone, button!”

Larry drove us to Mather Point, which was indeed one of my favorite picturesque and panoramic spots. The red, orange, blue, and purple shades that were glistening off the canyon”s landscape were stunning. At Mather”s Point, we had the good fortune to experience seeing two Condors. We were informed that this siting only occurs on very rare occasions. Condors, which were recently an endangered species, are sacred to Native Americans and are the largest birds in North America. This was definitely a cool surprise.

Larry drove us to several sights including, Pipe Creek Vista, Duck Rock (so adorable and interesting that it actually looks like a duck), Two Trees, and finally to Moran Point, (Named after Thomas Moran). This was also, one of my favorite Canyon spots.

I can only describe this magnificent natural wonder, as breathtaking, miraculous, mind-blowing, and immensely astounding. My mind had trouble taking in all of this overwhelming tremendous beauty. I had to stop, pause and reboot my brain. The vistas and views were beyond dazzling.

Just a bit of info on The Grand Canyon:

To begin with, the canyon is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and is 277 river miles. For approximately two billion years Earth’s geological history, has been exposed as the Colorado River and its branches cut their channels, through endless layers of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted. The precise geologic processes and timing that designed the Grand Canyon are the topic of argument by geologists. However, current indication proposes that the Colorado River established its course through the canyon at least 17 million years ago. Since then, the Colorado River continuously erodes and forms the canyon to its present-day formation.

I hope to return in my next life to see the continuing process of nature”s miracle.

For thousands of years, Native Americans, have constructed settlements in the canyon”s many caverns.

The Pueblo people considered the Grand Canyon a holy site, and made pilgrimages to it. After being there myself, I can understand their feelings, as the visions one can see there are glorious and Godlike.

The first European documented to have seen the Grand Canyon was Garcia Lopez de Cardenas from Spain, in 1540.

A grand thank you to Pink Jeep Tours. (I just love that name!) My tour of the Grand Canyon was a memorable, awe-inspiring, experience. I will never forget this grand day, thanks to your professional and fun sense of touring.

I rate the impressive Pink Jeep Tours a grandiose A+ on every single aspect. From the tours, to the guides, to the luxurious cool jeeps, to the exciting destinations, I say BRAVO AND I LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT PINK JEEPS TOUR!

PS: I would like to extend my huge appreciation to ROMY MURPHY, the general manager at the Pink Jeep Tours Grand Canyon location for making this article possible. A grand lady who obviously loves her job! Kudos as well to Larry my guide for a brilliant grand tour!
