THE GALA EVENT WITH CARING HEARTS!!!
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children held its annual Canon USA Customer Appreciation Gala for invited guests on Jan.9th at the Bellagio’s Grand Ballroom and let me say, “Grand it was!
John Walsh, co-founder of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and host of TV’s “America’s Most Wanted,” was present with great pride and since the inception of his organization; more than 138,000 children have been recovered. Bravo to this great humanitarian!
The Center was formed in 1984 by then President, Ronald Reagan and remains one of the top organizations at the forefront in the fight to protect our children from the evil that lurks out there.
Since 1997, Canon USA and the center have collaborated to educate the public about child abduction. Canon USA donates products to help law enforcement provide photos and information about missing children, produces public service announcements with missing children photos and educates parents about tips for taking updated photos of their children.

Among other highlights of the evening was an exclusive opportunity to interview the legendary rock icon, Alice Cooper and his amazing wife Sheryl. Due to the fact that this was an important charity event, the interview that ensued was approximately 12 minutes. Although short and sweet, it is one of our most pleasurable experiences filled with great info about Alice. Due to Cooper’s down to earth ease and eloquence, the discussion was very informative, revealing and needless to say, excellent. Near the end of the interview, Sheryl joined in and we ended up talking about their successful marriage as well as the Solid Rock Foundation which they started many years ago. You can tell by just looking at the two of them together that the honeymoon and courtship has never ended! Love does endure if you just watch this warm and happy couple together. Alice Cooper also, mentioned his radio show and you can find out more about these by clicking on the links below. http://www.nightswithalicecooper.com/ and http://www.alicecoopersolidrock.com/
We also, had the pleasure of meeting with the famous rock marvel, Mary Wilson from ‘The Supremes’. What a truly talented and delightful lady she is in every sense of the word. Look for an interview with Mary coming very soon. We met several other notable stars at the Cannon event, such as Denny Laine from Wings, Rock Singer Paul Shortino and his wonderful wife Carmen, actor Bruce Boxleitner, actor Adrian Zmed, comedian Bill Engvall, actress Stephanie Kramer from the TV show Hunter, and Legendary Major League Pitcher Rollie Fingers, and many other very distinguished celebrities as well.
After the red carpet, there was time to mingle and enjoy a spectacularly wonderful array of amazing foods from the Buffets by Bellagio. Offered on the many extravagant buffet tables were lavish, delectable gourmet food and dessert selections that were out of this world. What a treat. Some of our favorites were the Mediterranean Salad, Lamb Kabobs, cheeses, prime rib, pastries and ice-cream tables which were to die for.
Among several festivities of the evening was a group of prominent speakers, an auction, as well as a silent auction which was all quite remarkable. Included in the silent auction were signed sports memorabilia, baskets and a certified authenticated guitar signed by renowned Rock Musician Bruce Springsteen!
This black tie gala event was followed the next day by the celebrity golf tournament. This is the Cannon event’s 14th fantastic, successful and important year and no doubt, one of the best yet!
Furthermore, we must extend the highest of praise for making this event all come together in style and class to the ‘Baskow Talent Agency’. It is owned by Jaki Baskow and is acclaimed as one of the top Celebrity/Talent brokers & producers in the world today. Jaki Baskow has always been a visionary and her motto is, “Let us dazzle you!” and does she ever…
Further recognition, should go to Trish Williamson for her PR brilliance in pulling this gala off. We would be remiss if we didn’t thank the stellar, Sheree Olson for making the interview with Alice Cooper come to fruition. You rock.
To all involved in this marvelous evening and all it stands for,Rock Over America, salutes you!!!
