The charming, San Luca Palace hotel is situated in a medieval palace dating back to 1540, right in the historical center of Lucca in Tuscany, Italy. The location is absolutely perfect, near every place you’d want to visit. No cabs needed.
The hotel is cradled within the boundaries of the city’s ancient original walls. Therefore, it is just a brief distance from the elegant and delightful shops of the town, as well as all of the historic sights and attractions. The San Luca Palace, in my opinion, is the finest in the heart of Lucca. Staying here makes exploring all of the wonders of Lucca and Tuscany, so easy.
All of the staff, as well as the very elegant general manager, Simone Pacini, (Pictured above) are particularly wonderful. They are there if needed and magically disappear when not. They sincerely aim to please, and are so welcoming, accommodating, and lovely to work with. Your wish is their command.
Other than your gorgeous room (and it will be, no matter what category you choose) note that each one is decorated differently. There are several other stunning areas to relax in and reflect upon all of the memories you made that day in Lucca.
Even though the hotel is old-world elegant, it still creates a warm and relaxing, comfortable ambiance.
I normally never sit in hotel lobbies or other public areas but, I couldn’t help myself at the palace.
I only wish I had brought my tiara along.
The hotel is a large superior four-star hotel.
It has 4 floors with 17 Junior Suites, 3 suites, 4 doubles and 2 singles. I noticed great care had been taken over the decor and technology. No matter what nation you are from, you will feel right at home at the San Luca Palace.

In addition, breakfast was scrumptious and divine, sporting a large and impressive array of morning goodies. I don’t belive there was a thing missing. The buffet serves sweet-scented brioches, assortment of cereals, cheeses, fruit juice, selection of meats, scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh and cooked fruit, sweet and tasty cakes. Yes, I fell prey to it all. But, ya know, after all, you do walk endlessly in Italy. That’s my story and I’m stickin with it… Moving along, I love this tradition because it sets you off with energy for your day of touring. Well, that is, until the afternoon pasta, pizza and gelato I devoured.
The Puccini bar lounge is an area where you can talk and chill sipping a cocktail in a chic atmosphere listening to soft music. My favorite Italian aperitif is the spritz, (pictured below).
Yes, I drank a few and would do it again happily!
Ok, so naturally, you are in Italy. So I suggest you eat heavily! Worry about the calories when you go home. This could be a once-in-a-lifetime eating extravaganza and the food is more than worth it!
After eating… like a lot…
