Kilpop, for the people and by the people, it’s what comes to mind when it come to rock and metal music. Kilpop held it’s second annual Kilpop Awards at the Hard Rock Café on the Las Vegas Strip on February 23, 2018. This is not some kiddy teeny bop awards show for whoever is currently popular on the radio. It was hosted by Carlota, Gooch, Tina, Smash, and Five Fingers Death Punch Chris Kael. The night was full of rock ‘n’ roll royalty Vinnie Paul, Dj Ashba, Jason Hook, James Micheal just to name a few. Some of the categories included were, “Band you need to know,” which was won by, “I prevail.” The “You be fronting,” winner was Corey Taylor. “Public enemy number one,” was one by Marilyn Manson. “Best damn band,” was ‘Hellyeah.’ “Best song to get a speeding ticket to,” was Marilyn Manson’s “We know where you fucking live.” “Kilpop Spirit Award,” winners was Ivan Moody. The “Guilty Pleasure Award” went to the Killers.
You can’t have rock awards, without some heavy rock music. The long haired, tattooed, rock shirt wearing, fun drinking crowd was entertained by two bands, CKY and Smashing Alice. CKY played their original songs and Smashing Alice played many crowd pleasers; from Shinedown, Linkin Park, Disturbed, and so many more.
I had the the opportunity to hang out with Carlota, Gooch, and Tina. What I really enjoyed about them is how they are passionate about rock and Kilpop. They explained that the categories are posted and voting starts in November for the true Metal Heads. The beauty about this is all votes count, and go towards the different rock categories. So let your vote count! Stay informed by following Kilpop on line at www,kilpop.com, twitter, FB and instagram. As an added bonus you can tune in anytime to Las Vegas’ ROCK RADIO STATION (KOMP 92.3 )and listen to Carlota and Gooch. Kilpop also have Rock Star interviews, and up to date information about all your favorfavorites!
I would like to thank the people of Kilpop, Hard Rock Cafe, and a very special thank you to Carlota, for making this review possible. It’s time for another rock and roll recess! PARTY!
